AR-308 / AR-10 80% Lowers

What is an 80% Lower Receiver?

An 80 percent lower receiver is simply the part of a firearm that is legally considered the firearm itself, but it is not complete, and therefore, not a firearm. The ATF refers to them as “receiver blanks”, but the firearms industry generally refers to them as “80% lowers”. What it really means, is that once you finish a little milling, it ceases to be an 80% lower, and becomes a 100% firearm. You become the manufacturer yourself, and because you become the manufacturer, you don’t need any background checks, and 80 lowers are able to ship right to your door, since there are not yet regulated components.

What is an AR-10 80% Lower Receiver?

AR-10 80% lower receivers are just 80 percent lowers for an AR-10 style rifle. Our 80% AR10 lowers are DPMS Gen 1 compatible. The interesting thing abut the AR10 platform, is that because it was never adopted and standardized like the AR-15 was there are many different patterns, platforms, and variations out there. We’ve chosen the DPMS pattern because it’s the most common in the aftermarket, giving you the most range for customization. The AR-10 is compatible and can be made to shoot a wide variety of calibers including the following:

  • 6.5x47 Lapua

  • 6.5mm Creedmoor

  • 7.62x51mm NATO

  • .308 Winchester

  • .300 Winchester Short Magnum

  • .338 Federal

  • .450 Marlin

  • .500 Whisper

Why Buy an AR-10 80% Lower Receiver?

Are you wanting to hunt, or shoot long distance? The AR-10 / AR-308 platform provides significantly greater long range capabilities over the AR-15, simply because of the larger cartridges it’s able to utilize. The AR-15 is limited by the smaller magwell, but the AR-10 80% lowers have enough room for any standard short-action rifle cartridge. So if you need to reach something far away, or hit something with a little more force, build a rifle off of an AR10 80% lower.
